Workshop 3: Culture, a tool for social renovation
In the European free market context, human rights and cultural dignity have to be re-claimed, especially if we wish to stand against a consumerist vision established by cultural industries.
An implementation of the projects on their own basis means developing cross cooperation and stronger involvement of people and artists. Is this enlargement of cultural projects in their local dimension a guarantee for sustainable artistic development? Are the values and modes of popular education movements still appropriate? In what way do these collective processes participate to social renovation?

Workshop 4: The artist and living heritage
In many local areas, cultural life cannot ignore summer events, and cultural tourism is an economic reality that no-one would object to. But this wish for “attractiveness” and “competitiveness” demands more than simple management of temporary tourist traffic and preserving heritage. Can we find the right balance between heritage, creation, temporary events and long term actions?
